  • Welcome to DaytimeTV.net

We're finally back! It sure took us long enough. In reworking Dot Net's DaytimeTV.net, we've tried to make it interactive, entertaining and fun! We're still working on adding in media and mobile capabilities but we're nearly there and hope you enjoy the results.

Our new slogan is "Family, Friends, Faith and Fun", reflecting our core values and belief that one's favorite website isn't just a standalone, flat, emotionless newspaper, but a place that folks become attached too, with shows, friends, fans and actors that we connect with. We hope you feel that ambiance here and let us know if anything is missing... we'll work to ensure DaytimeTV.net becomes the daytime site you want to visit and come and stay awhile.

All My Children

Real Daytime Drama - AMC's Move to LA!

Check out this great article on "All My Children's" final taping in New York, prior to their holiday move to Los Angeles - you can read all about it here

MAYOR VILLARAIGOSA AND CITY COUNCIL WELCOME AMC TO LA

On Tuesday, January 19, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa stops by Pine Valley's new home at Andrita Studios to welcome "All My Children" to Los Angeles. The Mayor will play himself, crossing paths with Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) at Confusion, the local hotspot that's owned in part by Erica Kane. The two will have a back story of having met at a charity event in LA the year before. The airdate for this episode is February 17. Two days later, on Thursday, January 21, City Council President Eric Garcetti (whose district includes Andrita Studios) will appear in a scene with David Canary, who plays the role of Adam Chandler. His story will find him in Pine Valley, meeting with Adam Chandler about the initiatives they are taking together to make Chandler Enterprises more environmentally friendly. The airdate for this episode is February 16.

'All My Children's' Susan Lucci: Erica and Ryan aren't 'long-term'

"All My Children" star Susan Lucci knows the path of love is never smooth, especially when you're on long-running soap opera. The Emmy-winning (yes!) actress appeared on the "All My Children 40th Anniversary" panel Tuesday (Jan. 12) for the TCA Press Tour in which she performed a scene from her first season on the soap, alongside its creator, Agnes Nixon. The scene, about a teenage Erica Kane chasing after unavailable guys, shows just how far the character has come in 40 years, especially in the love department. Currently, Erica is in a controversial relationship with the character Ryan Lavery, played by Cameron Mathison. "I think in the beginning, the press thought it was a cougar storyline," Lucci tells reporters. "I didn't know what to expect. I don't think the audience believes in it as a long-term relationship, but I don't think the characters necessarily do either, but it's a genuine feeling for each other. So it is different from the expected." Her co-star agrees. "I had a story meeting, and the first thing they said was 'It's not a cougar story,'" Mathison tells Zap2it. "We've been mutually going at this. She's not taking advantage of me. I love it. I'm crazy about it. I think it's different. It's often a slightly older man and a younger woman in the relationship. In this particular situation it's reversed and it's also shocking. I mean, why not? I think there should be a sense of equanimity like that." But it's not the age difference between the characters that are at issue among the fans, but rather Erica and Ryan's tangled history. Basically, Erica used to be Ryan's mother-in-law and is still the grandmother to the son he had with Kendall (Alicia Minshew), her daughter. So, they're not blood-related, but still ... it's a little too close for comfort. Neither star addresses this aspect, but Mathison points out that he's heard mixed reactions. "I have some people who are absolutely crazy about it. They see how much sense it makes. They love the two of them together. I hear that a lot. And then there are fans that cannot see Ryan with anyone other than Greenlee, and then you know, Erica maybe with Jack." Earlier in the day, Lucci said she believed that Greenlee (Rebecca Budig) is Ryan's great love. "I think that's probably the case," Mathison agrees. "I think Erica and Ryan are extremely connected deeply in many ways, but as far as a true love for each other? I can't imagine that Erica would say the same about Ryan. I think Greenlee is Ryan's true love, yeah." But if Greenlee, the true love, is back for Ryan, then is Erica just setting herself up for heartbreak? Lucci isn't too worried. "I can't tip too much, but Erica is a fighter and is at a place where she is reclaiming herself," says Lucci. "Going to Ryan required a lot of vulnerability for her, and Ryan going to Erica required a lot of vulnerability for him. "Erica's cleaning house. I think Erica is divesting and investing ... It began with the breakup of Erica and Jack. I think it started there. I think Africa opened her eyes tremendously to many things and one of them being to remember who she is and to grab life by the horns and go for it. I think we're going to see the Erica that the audience loves. Erica's always been very active and not reactive, so you watch."

Cady McClain Returns to AMC !

ABC confirmed to Soap Opera Digest that Cady McClain, (Dixie, AMC, Rosanna, ATWT) will be reprising the role of Dixie, last seen as a ghost in 2008, for a short-term story arc that will reteam her with leading man Michael E. Knight (Tad). The network's lips were sealed on all other details (the timing of her return, the length of her contract, and whether Dixie will appear in angel or human form).

Directors Guild Awards Nominee - All My Children

Casey Childs of "All My Children" fame, was one of the nominees for the 62nd annual Directors Guild of America awards. The AMC episode was from early last year when Kendall ran Greenlee's motorcycle off the road, leaving the latter presumed dead. For GH, it was the residents of Port Charles singing a karaoke version of "Macho Man" at Maxie and Spinelli's non-wedding reception that's garnered the soap another nod. The winners will be announced on Saturday, January 20, in Los Angeles. ATWT's episode is last year's stand-alone Valentine's Day fantasy, in which Oakdale characters brought fairy tales to life. B&B nabbed a nomination for the Forrester/Jackie M fashion challenge sabotage. One of Y&R's honored shows was the stand-alone New Year's Eve episode, in which John showed Billy the different paths his life could take, in the style of A Christmas Carol, while its second nomination was for the episode in which a drowning Colleen is visited by her loved ones. The winners will be announced on Saturday, January 20, in Los Angeles.
